Petrol Prices Rise Again in Pakistan as JI Calls for Nationwide Strike
THE POINT

Petrol prices in Pakistan have increased again, pushing the rate closer to Rs350 per litre. The government raised petrol prices by Rs2.29 per litre to Rs346.16, while high-speed diesel rose by Rs1.11 to Rs372.03 per litre, effective September 3.

The increase comes as Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) intensifies protests against the petroleum levy and calls for a nationwide shutter-down strike on September 3, demanding relief for consumers.
