🌡️ Pakistan is getting hotter — and the numbers are telling the story.

Pakistan’s average temperature has increased by around 0.95°C since 1981, according to a scientific study by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which analyzed 45 years of weather data from 1981 to 2025.

The study found that minimum temperatures are rising faster than maximum temperatures, meaning nights are becoming warmer and offering less relief from daytime heat. 🌙🔥

Rainfall patterns are also becoming less consistent, while some areas are experiencing more intense heat. In certain locations, temperatures have exceeded 40°C for more than 100 days a year.

Experts are calling for region-specific climate planning focused on heatwaves, flooding, water management and changing rainfall patterns.
