Suzuki Alto Leads Pakistan Car Sales Again With 5,339 Units Sold

The Suzuki Alto has once again emerged as Pakistan’s best-selling passenger car, recording sales of 5,339 units in August 2026, according to figures based on data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA). The compact hatchback continued to lead Pakistan’s high-volume small-car segment despite an overall month-on-month decline in passenger car sales.

According to the latest sales figures, Suzuki sold 5,339 units of the Alto in August 2026, compared with 4,193 units in August 2025. This represents a strong year-on-year improvement for one of Pakistan’s most popular locally assembled cars.

The Alto has remained a major contributor to Pak Suzuki’s sales for years, particularly in the small-car category. Its continued popularity comes as buyers in Pakistan remain highly focused on compact vehicles, especially amid fuel costs and the overall cost of car ownership.

Pakistan’s Car Sales Rise Year-on-Year

Pakistan’s overall passenger car market also recorded notable growth compared with last year. A total of 13,717 passenger cars were sold in August 2026, up 36.4% from 10,057 units sold during August 2025. However, sales were 20.3% lower than July 2026, when 17,216 passenger cars were sold.

During the first two months of fiscal year 2026-27, passenger car sales reached 30,933 units, representing an increase of nearly 80% year-on-year compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Alto Continues to Dominate the Small-Car Market

The latest numbers show that the Suzuki Alto continues to hold a strong position in Pakistan’s passenger car market. Its 5,339-unit performance in August makes it the leading model in the below-1000cc category and reinforces its status as one of the country’s highest-volume cars.

Although the wider market experienced a monthly slowdown in August, year-on-year growth remains strong, suggesting that Pakistan’s passenger vehicle market continues to recover from the weaker sales levels seen previously.
