Petrol Hits Rs370.80 as Diesel Rises to Rs398.04 in Pakistan

Petrol and Diesel Prices Increased Again in Pakistan
Pakistani consumers are facing another increase in fuel costs after the government revised the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for Friday, September 11, 2026.
According to an official press release issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs3.05 per litre, taking it to Rs370.80 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has risen by Rs5.37 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs398.04 per litre. The revised prices took effect on September 11.
One of the most significant aspects of the latest revision is the high-speed diesel price, which has now reached Rs398.04 per litre — just Rs1.96 below the Rs400 mark.
Diesel prices are particularly important for Pakistan's economy because HSD is extensively used by trucks, buses, agricultural machinery and other commercial vehicles. An increase in diesel prices can raise transportation and logistics costs, which can eventually put upward pressure on the cost of moving goods across the country.
Petrol, meanwhile, directly affects millions of people who depend on motorcycles and cars for daily travel. The increase to Rs370.80 per litre means motorists will once again have to allocate more of their household budgets to fuel.
Even relatively small per-litre increases can become noticeable when calculated over a full fuel tank.
For example, a 40-litre petrol refill now costs Rs12,? Wait—let's calculate correctly: at Rs370.80 per litre, a 40-litre refill costs Rs14,832. Compared with the previous Rs367.75 rate, the same refill costs Rs122 more solely because of the latest Rs3.05 increase.
For diesel users, the effect is larger. A 50-litre HSD purchase now costs Rs19,902, which is Rs268.50 more than before the Rs5.37-per-litre increase.
For individual motorists, these changes may appear manageable on a single refill, but repeated price increases can significantly affect monthly transportation expenses.
Why Fuel Prices Matter So Much
Fuel prices influence far more than private commuting. Transportation is a major part of supply chains, meaning higher diesel costs can increase the expense of carrying food, manufactured goods and other products between cities.
Businesses that depend heavily on transportation may face higher operating costs. Whether those costs are passed on to consumers depends on factors including competition, demand and individual business decisions, so a fuel increase does not automatically translate into an identical increase in retail prices.
The latest revision is therefore important both for motorists and for the wider economy.
As of September 11, 2026, the officially announced petrol price in Pakistan is Rs370.80 per litre, while high-speed diesel stands at Rs398.04 per litre. The Petroleum Division confirmed increases of Rs3.05 and Rs5.37 per litre respectively.
Consumers should rely on official government announcements for the latest rates, particularly during periods when petroleum prices are changing frequently.
