Netanyahu Secretly Meets UAE President In Abu Dhabi

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly made a secret visit to Abu Dhabi, where he met United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The meeting, which took place on Sunday, September 27, was confirmed by UAE state media on Monday, September 28. The visit has attracted international attention because it comes amid controversy surrounding reports that the UAE president allegedly warned Netanyahu about a possible major Hamas operation before the October 7, 2023, attack.

According to international media reports, the discussions covered bilateral relations, regional security and developments affecting both countries. The UAE's official state news agency, WAM, confirmed that Netanyahu met Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi. According to the agency, both leaders discussed relations between the UAE and Israel and explored ways to strengthen and develop cooperation.

Reuters also reported that Netanyahu's office described the visit as taking place at the invitation of the UAE president, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and regional challenges. The meeting was initially reported by Israeli media before the UAE officially acknowledged it.

Why Was the Meeting Kept Secret?
