Apple’s Most Expensive iPhones Ever? Here’s What the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max & Foldable Cost

Apple has officially moved the iPhone into a new ultra-premium price bracket. At its September 9, 2026 event, the company introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo. The headline is simple: Apple’s newest flagships are more expensive than their predecessors, while the foldable Duo pushes iPhone pricing to a record high.

The highest-capacity iPhone 18 Pro, featuring 2TB of storage, is listed at $2,399. Its estimated Pakistani price stands at approximately Rs. 665,000 without PTA, while the PTA-inclusive figure could reach around Rs. 877,000.

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the United States for 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 for the same capacity. Apple is selling both models in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB versions. U.S. pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro is $1,199, $1,399, $1,799, and $2,399 respectively. The Pro Max costs $1,299, $1,499, $1,899, and $2,499 across those same storage tiers. 

That means the 2026 Pro models are not only more expensive at the entry level, but higher-capacity versions also carry much steeper premiums. Apple raised the base prices by $100 compared with the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro models. The new 2TB option is also the first time Apple has offered that much storage on the Pro line. 

The price increases also arrive during a period of unusually high memory and component costs across the technology industry. Reports following Apple’s event linked the higher storage premiums to a memory shortage. For consumers, choosing capacity now matters more, because moving from 256GB to 1TB or 2TB adds hundreds of dollars. 

The iPhone Duo is even more significant. Apple’s first foldable iPhone starts at $1,999 for 256GB, making it the most expensive iPhone at launch. The 512GB model costs $2,199, the 1TB version is $2,599, and the 2TB model reaches $3,199. That top configuration is the highest official price Apple has ever attached to an iPhone. 

The Duo uses a book-style folding design with a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display. Apple says the larger screen is the biggest ever used on an iPhone. It is powered by the A20 Pro chip and includes a new thermal system with a vapor chamber. Apple has also redesigned iOS 27 for the folding form factor, allowing apps and multitasking features to make better use of the expanded display. 

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max also receive major hardware upgrades. Both use Apple’s A20 Pro processor, which is built on a 2-nanometer process, and feature a new 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. Apple says the variable aperture gives photographers more control over depth of field and light. The phones also introduce a smaller Dynamic Island, improved thermal management, Siri AI features, and longer battery life, especially on the Pro Max. 

Apple will open pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 12, with general availability beginning September 18. The iPhone Duo follows later, with pre-orders opening October 16 and sales starting October 23 in the United States and more than 70 other countries and regions.

For buyers outside the United States, these dollar prices should be treated as Apple’s U.S. retail prices, not final local costs. Taxes, import duties, exchange rates, carrier pricing, and retailer margins can make the actual price substantially higher in markets such as Pakistan.

Overall, Apple’s 2026 lineup shows how aggressively the company is moving toward premium pricing. The iPhone 18 Pro remains the least expensive of the new high-end models, the Pro Max adds a larger screen and battery, and the iPhone Duo sits above both as Apple’s new luxury flagship. With a 2TB Duo priced at $3,199, the iPhone has officially entered a price range once reserved for premium laptops and professional computers.
