iPhone 17 Prices Fall by Up to Rs. 112,000 Ahead of iPhone 18 Launch

Apple’s current iPhone lineup is becoming cheaper at several major retailers just before the company’s highly anticipated September 2026 event, with discounts appearing across the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air range. In Pakistan, the iphone 17 Pro and iphone 17 Pro Max are reportedly more than Rs. 56,000 cheaper, while the standard iphone 17 has dropped by over Rs. 37,000. The iphone Air 512GB has been an even bigger reduction of more than Rs. 112,000.

Some Pakistani reports have described reductions worth as much as Rs. 112,000 on selected models, while international retailer data confirms substantial discounts in the UK and several European markets. However, buyers in Pakistan should note that these are primarily international retail discounts rather than an official Apple price reduction specifically announced for Pakistan.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Get Bigger Discounts

According to Forbes, Amazon UK has increased its discount on both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max to £150 compared with their original launch prices. Just a week earlier, the discount on these models had reportedly been £100.

The regular iPhone 17 is now £100 cheaper, while the 512GB iPhone Air is being offered with a £200 reduction. Retailers Currys and John Lewis have also offered approximately £100 off selected iPhone 17 Pro models.

Pakistani media reports have translated some of these international savings into local currency, quoting reductions of more than Rs. 56,000 on the Pro models, over Rs. 37,000 on the standard iPhone 17, and as much as Rs. 112,000 on certain iPhone Air listings or comparisons. These rupee figures should be treated as reported estimates rather than fixed Pakistani retail prices because exchange rates, storage options, retailer promotions and taxes can significantly affect the final amount.

Discounts Are Not Limited to the UK

The price cuts are also appearing elsewhere in Europe.

Retailer listings reported from Spain and Germany show reductions of roughly €90 to €150 on selected iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max variants. For example, a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max was reportedly reduced from €1,469 to €1,319 at one Spanish retailer.

The discounts suggest retailers are trying to reduce existing inventory before Apple introduces its next generation of premium iPhones.

Apple Event Scheduled for September 9

Apple has officially scheduled its major fall product event for September 9, 2026, at Apple Park in Cupertino. The event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with its first foldable iPhone. Reports suggest the foldable device could become one of Apple’s most expensive smartphones to date.

Interestingly, the regular iPhone 18 is not expected to launch alongside the Pro models this September. Current reports indicate Apple may introduce the standard iPhone 18 in spring 2027 as part of a new split-release strategy.

Should Buyers Purchase an iPhone 17 Now?

For customers who do not need the newest Apple hardware, current discounts could make the iPhone 17 price drop attractive. The Pro and Pro Max models remain premium devices, and further retailer discounts could appear as stores clear inventory.

However, buyers should also consider waiting until Apple officially reveals its new lineup. Apple has historically changed availability of older Pro models after launching a new generation, while third-party retailers may continue selling remaining stock at reduced prices.

For Pakistani customers, prices can vary even more because devices may be PTA-approved or non-PTA, and retailers set different rates depending on storage capacity, SIM configuration, exchange rates and import costs.

The current price cuts therefore represent an international retail trend rather than a single official Apple reduction. Still, with the next generation of iPhones arriving, consumers looking for an iPhone 17 may find some of the strongest deals seen so far.
